Dr. Manuel T. Velasquez, of Falls Church, VA died peacefully at his home in Glendale, CA with family by his side on January 13, 2021, five days after his 82nd birthday.

He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Providence Hospital, Washington, DC and underwent fellowship in Hypertension and Clinical Hemodynamics and Nephrology at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Washington, D.C. He then completed a research traineeship in Cardiovascular Physiology at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. From 1974 to 1980, he worked as assistant professor at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. In 1980, he and his family relocated to Milwaukee, WI as he continued on as a professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In 1986, Dr. Velasquez took on his last job as Director of the Hypertension Clinic and professor of Medicine in the Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
