Obituary:Virginia Ramos a.k.a The Tamale Lady born June 23, 1953 in Tenamaxtlan Jalisco Mexico. Is survived by her seven children. Maricela Herrera (Sanchez-Ramos), Patricia Aurora Sanchez, Juan Carlos Sanchez, Isabel Sanchez, Maria Guadalupe Sanchez, Jose Alberto Sanchez and Monica Fabiola McKenzie (Sanchez-Ramos). Grandchildren are Virginia Zamora-Sanchez, Marcelina Zamora-Sanchez, Izadela Meza-Sanchez, Grezia Meza-Sanchez, Juan C. Sanchez Jr., Kaleb Estaban McKenzie, and Adela M. Bender. Virginia took pride in being known for her hard work selling tamales. While she sold lots of tamales to make her living in the processes she was genuine and caring of all her customers and friends. Virginia took every opportunity to help everyone around her. She was a mother figure in the community who would tell it like it was and provide guidance to all. A person that gave back to the community that supported her and she valued every moment she spent with her people. We will all miss her great spirit and giving heart. A vigil will be held at Duggan's Funeral Home on 17th Street Tuesday October 9, 2018 from 4-7pm, with the rosary prayer at 7pm. The funeral mass is being held at Mission Dolores Church on Wednesday October 10, 2018 at 11 am followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. less
