Shirley Catherine Walder (Lockwood) of Grass Valley, CA died peacefully on August 3, 2019 at the age of 88. Shirley was born on May 12, 1931 in San Francisco, CA to Frank Lockwood and Catherine Lockwood (Nelligan). She graduated from Burbank High School in 1949 and received an Associate in the Arts from Cabrillo College in 1975. Shirley married Robert John Walder (1928-1999) on April 1, 1950. Shirley was born on May 12, 1931 in San Francisco, CA to Frank Lockwood and Catherine Lockwood (Nelligan). She graduated from Burbank High School in 1949 and received an Associate in the Arts from Cabrillo College in 1975. Shirley married Robert John Walder (1928-1999) on April 1, 1950. She was a nurse, a quilter and an artist. She and Robert loved to travel, especially to Hawaii. She will be remembered as a strong, independent woman who was loved and admired deeply.
Shirley is survived by her six children (Glen Walder, Donna Beleu, John Walder, Randall Walder, Sharon Stoddard and Mark Walder), 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for August 24, 2019 at a family home from 12:00 - 4:00 pm located at 1096 Mission Circle, Fairfield, CA 94534. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Shirley's life.
