The organization's vision is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of injured service members in our nation’s history, by CONNECTING, SERVING, and EMPOWERING the wounded men and women who so bravely volunteered to serve our nation on or after the events of September 11, 2001.
They CONNECT warriors, their families, and caregivers to peers, programs, and communities to ensure they have a readily available network of support. SERVE by providing free mental and physical health and wellness programs, career and benefits counseling, and by providing ongoing support for the most severely injured. And EMPOWER warriors to live life on their own terms, mentor fellow veterans and service members, and embody the WWP logo by carrying one another on a path toward recovery.
Today, more than 110,000 wounded warriors and 26,000 family support members and caregivers are registered with WWP and have access to free programs and services that CONNECT, SERVE, and EMPOWER. less

OBITUARY
There aren't many people who can say a bad thing about Raul (aka Lalo, Lalito, Chalin, and Chalinsito). He was kind, loving, caring, very modest and a little funny too. He was the best at telling dad jokes, corny but cute. He lived a long life and enjoyed every moment of it. He loved travelling and he did a lot of it with his best travel companion (mom) and would never pass up an offer to go on a cruise. My fondest memories of my father are during our many adventures. He would take us on quick day trips to the beach, Lake Tahoe, the park and long cross-country road trips too like Disneyland, Texas, Arizona, Florida, etc... We drove and flew to Mexico, flew to Costa Rica, and El Salvador. Spending quality time and nurturing his children, his grandkids and great grandkids was so important to dad. Our family was so lucky to have him for so long. Our father was a World War II veteran and although he didn't talk about it much, we were so proud of him for his service. Dad was married previously and had a son, and I'm grateful that our brother Larry grew up to be just like dad. Dad loved all of his children equally and gave us all a solid foundation to be good and decent individuals. He lived a simple life, but family and friends were everything to him. We will always hold him dear in our hearts and the fond memories will continue. The love he gave was selfless, he didn't expect anything in return, but he got so much back because he deserved it. He will be missed so much but I know he is at peace. If there's any comfort in his passing, we all got a chance to say our goodbyes, he knew how much he was loved and he simply passed while he was sleeping. Thank you God for giving me my dad. Thank you dad for giving me a happy and wonderful life. Love you with all my heart.

We used to go to the park around the corner and go on walks looking at all the flowers and trees in the neighborhood. I remember passing a soccer ball around with him, he was the one who taught me my rainbow trick that to this day I’m still proud when I do it. My grandpa is not only a grandpa, but he is a great grandpa as well. My kids loved him. He had a special bond with them and it was bittersweet how he always wanted to go outside with us to watch them play. It’s a blessing knowing he got to meet my children. And it’s even more of a blessing knowing how much he loved us. less
