Palmer was born on May 2, 1947 in Ivel, Kentucky and passed away on December 29, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. Palmer was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all friends and family.
Palmer grew up in Ivel, Kentucky and spent a lot of time traveling around the United States and Canada. Palmer married his beloved wife, Patricia, in 1967 in North Carolina. Palmer and Pat had three children, Tanya, Troy, and Tricia, whom they adored. Palmer has often been described as humble, kind, and hardworking. He never met a stranger and could charm anyone he met with his sweet nature. He had a contagious zest for life.
In 1987, Palmer was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a devoted member until he died. For many years, he put his construction knowledge to good use and travelled around the Arizona region working on the Regional Building Committee. In the early 2000s, he became a regular pioneer and served in that role until his health worsened. He also served as a ministerial servant for many years.
Palmer loved to dance, fish, and travel. Palmer and Pat loved to travel together, and Palmer always kept a spirit of adventure. Together he and his wife lived in five states, visited 49 states, and visited at least 10 countries. An avid fisherman, he loved lake, river, and ocean fishing. He loved race cars, mud bogs, Westerns, and demolition derbies.
He worked for many years as a semi-truck driver, both long haul and local. He was especially proud of working on the construction of Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant.
Palmer is survived by his wife, Patricia, and his three children, Tanya (Colin) Brodd, Troy (Tracey) Osborne, and Tricia Blanchette. He has six grandchildren (Andrew, Eli, Tierra, Madison, Aidan, and Christopher). He is survived by 18 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Harl and Lucy Osborne; his brothers, Euel and Paul Osborne; and his sister, Dorothy Lewis.
