Nora Lee Jordan-Larimore left her earthly journey on Friday, September 11, 2020, to answer her calling. The eldest child of Robert Lee Jordan (1965) and Leila Ransom (1942), she was born on September 6, 1935.
Nora grew up in the Pee Dee community in Horry County S.C. and lived her adult life in Conway, S.C. Before retiring from the AVX in May 1996, she worked in the hospitality and health care industry.
She enjoyed fishing and volunteering in her community. Her greatest enjoyment was her family and helping others. Nora had a way of making your day brighter. Family members and friends craved for her homemade pound cake and biscuits. Nora was a very giving, down-to-earth, and selfless Christian. She became a member of The Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Conway, SC. Nora had 85 wonderful years on this beautiful planet, and the world will be a lesser place without her.
She is survived by her children, Yvonne Jordan (Conway SC) and Linda Farmer (Trenton) (Colombia SC), and sons Gerome Jordan (Evelyn) (Tucker GA) and Nathaniel Larimore (Phyllis) (Baltimore MD) . She leaves to mourn four grandchildren, Nora (Josh) (Colombia SC) , Jord’e, (Colombia SC) Simone San Antonio (Texas) and Neco (AR), and three great-grandchildren, Kalab, Elijah, and Jordan (Colombia SC).
She is preceded in death by her sister Verdell Thomas and her stepmother Martha Jordan. Also, she is survived by her sister LaVern Gunnells and her stepbrothers and sisters; Daisy Bell, Robert Ann, Martha Ann, Janet, Carl, Ronald, Patrick, Kenneth, Nicky, and a host of sister-in-law’s, brother-in-law’s, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, no visitation will be received by the family. A graveside-only service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Rose Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery, Conway SC.
