Nancy Mellinger Zendt, 81, of Columbia, MD, passed away on March 6, 2020, at her residence.

Nancy Mellinger Zendt was born at home in Ronks, PA to Clarence and Elizabeth Mellinger on February 16, 1939. She went to the Northstar School in Ronks and then J. P. McCaskey High School  in Lancaster, PA.  She graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. degree in bacteriology.  She was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and was active with the alumni group in State College until she moved to Maryland.

Nancy is preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Mellinger and Anna Mary Mellinger and brother Richard Mellinger. 

Nancy is survived by daughters Erica Zendt (Lloyd Newton) of Raleigh, NC, and Adrienne Zendt Taylor (William Taylor IV) of Ellicott City, MD, and by son Charles Zendt III of Yeagertown, PA. She is survived by sister Betty Jane Neal (Richard Neal) of Arcadia, CA and by brothers John Robert Mellinger (Mary Jo Mellinger) of Belton, MO, and Allen Mellinger (Ann Mellinger) of Ronks, PA. She is survived by grandchildren Alexandra Taylor (Clay Burton), William Taylor V, Bailee Zendt, Charli Zendt, and Skylar Zendt. 

The family of Nancy wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the patient, tender care she received at Harmony Hall Assisted Living and Advantage Fitness and Rehabilitation in Columbia MD.  It was very important to Nancy to introduce us to each of her caregivers whenever she could. Nancy also received excellent care from Gilchrist Hospice in the last few weeks and her family wish to extend our thanks to those caregivers as well.
