OBITUARY
Michael J. Byham, age 60 of Jackson Township, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020.He was born September 1, 1960 in Canton, the son of Philip Byham and the late Mary (Elias) Byham.After graduating from Jackson High School he served in the Army as an MP for 4 years.Mike worked at Chemionics in Akron, where he was the union president for 20 years.He was a 22 year member of Jackson Sideliners, coach and equipment manager for Jackson... see moreMichael J. Byham, age 60 of Jackson Township, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020. He was born September 1, 1960 in Canton, the son of Philip Byham and the late Mary (Elias) Byham. After graduating from Jackson High School he served in the Army as an MP for 4 years. Mike worked at Chemionics in Akron, where he was the union president for 20 years. He was a 22 year member of Jackson Sideliners, coach and equipment manager for Jackson Football for 10 years, taking over from his father, Phil. He was vice-chairman for security community for Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls and had been a volunteer for twenty seven years. Mike was also the President of the Elite Club called the Horseman of Jackson. Mike was always willing to help somebody and was a long time Jackson Supporter. He loved being in God's Country watching the Steelers play. Mike is survived by two sons, Cody (Jen) Byham of Canton and Casey Byham of the home; daughter, Cassie (Nate) Runke of Minnesota; grandchildren, Joey and Cali Byham and Heath Runke; father, Phil Byham, siblings, Chris Byham, Anne (Larry) Massie, Mary Kay (Ty) Wallace, Jeff (Denise) Byham. His brother in laws Kevin Jones, and Doug (Amy) Jones, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura (Jones) Byham, Mother, Mary M Byham and best friends Casey Murphy, Bobby Hershberger and Steve Guezetta.
