Maria Lesperance Joseph was born in LaValle'e Jacmel, Haiti on July 16, 1934 and made a peaceful transition to eternal rest on July 12, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Charise Lauture and the late Dominique Lesperance. After a special courtship, she married the late Paul Joseph and from this union came three amazing children, Danielle Joseph Anglade, Marie Paul Joseph (deceased), and Jude Dominique Joseph. She came to the United States of America with the hope of building an incredible life and legacy for her family. She wanted her family both near and far to have the best of everything.
Education was very important to her as she studied to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Maria worked as an LPN for over 20 years at LaGuardia Hospital in New York City where she cared for many patients and helped other families in their time of need. She was a hard worker who treated every patient as if they were her family member. In 2000, she decided to leave the cold weather of Brooklyn, New York to retire to the sunny weather of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During her retirement years, she enjoyed playing dominoes, cooking, dancing, shopping and traveling to Washington, DC to visit with her son.
Having a close relationship with her friends and family was very important to her. She always made sure to spend time with them and tell them how much she loved them. She was a faithful member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church where she attended with her daughter.
Maria is survived by her beloved daughter, Danielle Anglade, and devoted son Jude Dominique Joseph (Kichelle), four grandchildren, Albert D. Anglade, Jonathan Anglade, Alexandria Maria Joseph, and Jude Dominique Joseph II, sister, Renette Lesperance, and brother, Erribert Lesperance.
Preceding Maria to heaven was her daughter Marie Paul Joseph, sister, Paulette Lesperance, sister, Saintanie Lesperance Gabriel, and brother, Fernand Lesperance.
Maria leaves of hosts of relatives, godchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her signature smile that radiates in their hearts.
