This one time a friend was sleeping over and we were concocting a plan to sneak out when granny went to sleep 😂 we lived on the first floor so we decided we would jump out the window and climb back through the window when we got back. We needed to do a test run to make sure we could jump out and climb back up through the window with success. My friend breezed through her trial jump and return. I jumped out successfully but then couldn’t climb back up 🤣 My friend frantically tried to pull me up with no success. I then realized I was going to have to walk to the front of the building and buzz....what the heck would I say to granny who was going to open the door and see me when she thought I was in my bedroom??!! 😂 when granny opened the apartment door she looked like she saw a ghost. “I thought you were in your room,” she hollered! The best I could come up with so quickly was that my friend and I were watching our other friend skateboarding out the window. He had a bad fall and I needed to help him so the quickest way I could get to him was to jump out the window 🤦🏻♀️ Her response??? “Is your friend ok?? “ what granny didn’t put up with with us Petrocelli kids less

I will always remember the sound of Grandma’s whistle outside our apartment window letting us know she was here. I will also remember her telling us to give her one ring on the phone to let her know that we arrived home safely.
Grandma welcomed her first grandchild in 1971 at the age of 47. She continued to welcome and love more grandchildren into her nineties. Anyone know how many grand, great, and great-great grandchildren there are altogether?
I will always remember Granny ringing the buzzer of our building and yelling up to us from the lobby to see if we needed ice cream or some other item that was on sale. She always remembered which ice cream was our favorite:)
