Lisa Douglass Weiss, 47, of Washington Township, MI, passed from this life to the next on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. Her Heavenly Father and her earthly father greeted her at Heaven’s Gate.
Her faith in the Lord was an essential part of her life.
She was born on July 30, 1971 to John E. Douglass and Cheryl Douglass (Lyons) in Latrobe, PA.
After graduating from Indiana University of PA, and being the independent adventurer that she was, Lisa packed up everything for the next great chapter of her life.
Lisa attended Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in Lansing, MI. Not long after she graduated, she met her soulmate and the love of her life, David Weiss. Lisa and David were married on June 25, 2005.
Ultimately, she found her niche working at the WeberOlcese law firm. She was a passionate and resourceful attorney, loved what she did as a profession, and enjoyed working with some wonderful colleagues.
Her life changed when she was diagnosed with cancer in February 2018. Her valiant fight with cancer was a testimony to her bravery and fortitude.
Lisa is preceded in death by her father, John E. Douglass.
Lisa is survived by her loving and devoted husband, David J. Weiss of Washington Township; her mother Cheryl; her sister Lorrie Douglass; and her brother J. Robert Douglass (Chris). Her nieces and nephew include: Olivia; Rebekah, Andrew, and Julianne.
Lisa was also blessed with a bonus family: her father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Sara Weiss; sister-in-law Mary Crecelius (Scott); and brother-in-law John (Suzanne). Her nieces and nephew include: Amy (Phil), Tim (Jess), and Amanda; Kaitlyn; and great-nephew James.
Visitation will be held at Bridge Community Church, 5700 Rochester Road, Troy, MI on Friday, April 12 at 10am. The service will follow at 11am.
