Leroy Arnold Kortlever, was born on March 8th 1935 in Edgerton Minnesota. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 16th 1965.
He is survived by two sons, Reed Kortlever and Randall Kortlever, their spouses, his 3 sisters, and 2 brothers, Clarene Trayford, Ruth Grant, Lovina Daniels, Fred Kortlever, and Russ Kortlever. He is also survived by four grandchildren Jaima Kortlever, Cameron Kortlever, Emily Dunn, and Rhianna Kortlever, their spouses, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hattie Kortlever, his wife Donnette and his son Kevin.
Leroy married Donnette Maranell on September 22nd 1960. Shortly after his first son Kevin was born in 1961, they moved to Astoria Oregon where they learned the truth. Leroy had a strong faith in his God and the promises found in the Bible. Leroy was always ready and willing to help others. Leroy and Donnette were known for their hospitality. It was not uncommon for Leroy to be cooking for others. Leroy had the privilege of helping to construct Kingdom Halls wherever he moved. Many who know LeRoy well experienced his good sense of humor. And he maintained it to the end.
In his final years, when his health and territory were limited, he continued to share his faith with others. Leroy passed peacefully on June 4th, 2021, faithful to Jehovah. We look forward to the time very soon where we see again in the new world. (John 5:28, 29)
