By empowering transgender people and our allies to educate and influence policymakers and others, NCTE facilitates a strong and clear voice for transgender equality in our nation's capital and around the country.
In 2024, National Center for Transgender Equality merged with Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund (TLDEF, EIN 04-3762842) to form a new organization, Advocates for Trans Equality. The new organization will use NCTE's old EIN until it has its own tax-exempt determination from the IRS. less

June 25th Update -
The military has been in touch with Lee’s parents and informed them that his body should be home in Texas by next week.
Unfortunately, due to COVID, it is not safe for us to hold a large in-person service. Instead, once he is home and his parent's wishes of having him cremated take place, we will announce a date for his virtual service.
His family wants to give everyone a chance to say good-bye, so we ask that if you feel inclined, please send a short video message, photos, letters, or song requests to
LeeMillerMemories@gmail.com.
Lee's uncle, Librado, will take all the content and create a video to present at his virtual service.
Lee felt very strongly about the rights of the LGBTQ community. In lieu of flowers, the family would love for you to donate to a cause near to Lee's heart, in his honor. We will update this post with more organizations as we find them.
If you would also like to send a message, flowers, or anything else his parent's addresses are:
Mom - Liza Ellis
4709 Pemberton Lane,
The Colony, 75056
Dad - David Miller
3930 Buena Vista Circle
Granbury, TX 76049
Thank you for contributing to Lee's lasting memorial.
I really didn't know Lee very well, but the moment I met him, I knew he was a good person. He made Sarah so happy, and I recall their wedding all the time.
I've never met anyone so pure of heart, who was kind and welcoming as he was.
