I have had the extreme privilege of knowing Kevin Woods since 1986 and have called him my blood brother ever since then.

We met on the dance floor in india. To me he was the extreme super athlete with the most incredible energy and creative steps. His moves were like art and everyone would marvel at the syncopated metronomic rhythms of Kevin’s powerful legs and arms.
We probably danced and laughed and had so much fun for more than 100 hours together before actually speaking. When my energy was lagging I would only have to look at Kevin and got so invigorated by his vibrant energy.
In 1987 we travelled to Finland together and had the adventure of a lifetime pursuing an archaeological and historical saga that continues to this day, and which he ended up writing an amazing book about.
We lived together on the island of Boracay in the Philippines and in Goa, India from 1988 to 1990. We adventured through storms of real weather and emotion on all levels. We shared the most amazing times.
In 1990, in India, I was critically injured after an attack and it was Kevin who rescued me, carried me up a cliff, and then wedged me between him and a friend on the back of his motorbike to go to the nearest village where he could take me by taxi to the hospital. I owe Kevin my life. He is my hero.
In 1991 Kevins beautiful daughter Aurora was born to her wonderful mother Caterina. I was privileged to be able to meet this beautiful and brilliant soul on her second day in this world in Italy where she was born.
Nearly 20 years later Aurora came to Australia and stayed with my family for some time where she was the best babysitter for my two young children. She inspired them in so many ways but especially by telling them Fantasy stories in the same way that Kevin had spent many hours reading her the whole of the ‘Lord of the rings’ when she was a child. Now my children are 13 and 16 years old and even though they met Aurora 10 years ago, they never forget her and the beautiful gifts she gave them. Aurora is a beautiful testament to the amazing parenthood and lineage she has come from. 
Over the decades I’ve had the privilege of meeting many of Kevin‘s family. I’ve never had the honour of meeting his parents in person but I have enjoyed talking to them on the telephone many times and know them to be inspiring and amazing people. Kevin‘s beautiful sister Sheena and his amazing cousin Norman are exemplary human beings who I was really happy to meet in Spain in 2011.
Kevin’s yoga was impeccable and Body & Mind he was a true Yogi. Not only was he able to get his physical body into any position but also his mind was sharp, focused, kind and calm.
Although over the last 20 years he and I mostly lived in houses 15,000 km apart and didn’t see each other face-to-face for nearly 15 years at one stage, we regularly spoke on the phone or online and never forgot each other’s birthdays, and we always spoke on those days.
In 2011 we met again when Kevin and Gloria organised The most incredible festival in Spain. I travelled all the way from Australia to attend this amazing event that Kevin has talked about making for years and that they both created together. I was not disappointed. This was one of the highlights of my life. In life Kevin thought big and always manifested the greatest things.
On my birthday in 2017 I gave myself the best present. In between my work in Europe I flew to Madrid, hired a car and drove for about 6 hours to visit Kevin and Gloria. This was the last time I saw him in person. We only had about 12 hours together but manage to fit so much in that time. Sleep was not on the agenda that evening. We talked all night long and he gave me so many gifts in the form of the art he had made. What Kevin and Gloria have done with their beautiful property is truly amazing. I feasted on so much of the beautiful ripe fruit they had grown there.
The book and website that Kevin has made along with Michel and Appi and of course edited meticulously by Kevin and Caterina’s Beautiful daughter Aurora is a brilliant legacy that Kevin has left for the world. The thousands of hours that were made creating it were nothing in comparison to the three decades spent thinking about and working with it beforehand.
I believe Kevin will always be with us and he is always in my heart. In his life he was as an amazing athlete, super dancer, genius scholar, amazing philosopher, thoughtful historian, wonderful father partner and best friend, as well as my hero and life saver. Kevin is also the most amazing artist. The beautiful T-shirts that he designed and printed are my favourite clothes. Whenever I wear them I think of him. They’re my favourite clothes to dance in and when I put his brilliant artistic shirts on I always feel powerful and happy and think of him.
I’m forever grateful to Gloria for being such an amazing partner for Kevin all these years and taking care of him when he needed help. I’m especially thankful to Gloria for contacting me the day before Kevin passed so we could talk online a little bit and I could look into Kevin’s face and tell him that I love him. Kevin will be in my every meditation for the rest of my life just like he has been already for so many years. less

My condolences, Aurora!! Last time I saw Kevin and Gloria was 4 years ago when they had the "chiringuito" in natural pool. What an amazing man!!
