John David Preston Obituary
John David Preston passed away in Shingle Springs, California on December 24, 2020. He was 70 years old. John was a long-term teacher of graduate psychology students and other health care professionals. It was his passion to teach. He also wrote a number of psychology books. However, he often said, “writing was always a chore for me”. Teaching always is where he felt most alive. His is survived by his wife Bonnie,2 sons, Matt and David and 4 grandchildren, Atticus and Ender, Aurora, River, and his sister Suzie of Benton, Arkansas. All his children and grandkids fortunately lived within 10 minutes of his home. He loved playing guitar with his friends and riding horses with Bonnie and Aurora in the foothills was where he found his bliss.
Bonnie was the love of his life, married 43 years and they together created a zoo (of sorts) … dozens of exotic birds, 4 dogs and 2 horses. He often cautioned many people not to ever have 4 dogs (too many!)
In both John’s professional and personal life, he was known as a warm and caring person, with a very good sense of humor. He loved his life and felt such gratitude at having such a full life.
