OBITUARY

Beloved family member and friend, Joe Plummer, passed away September 20th. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Mary; his four children Courtney (Moe), Jake (Sarah), Sarah (Matt), and Steven; his granddaughter, Finley; and brothers Bob (Kim) and Dave (Kim). He is survived by his wife and best friend, Mary; his four children Courtney (Moe), Jake (Sarah), Sarah (Matt), and Steven; his granddaughter, Finley; and brothers Bob (Kim) and Dave (Kim). Though taken from this world much too soon, in his 61 years Joe lived an amazingly-full life, embracing every day for the joy it would bring.

He grew up in Long Beach, California and met his high school sweetheart, Mary, at St. Anthony's. He cherished their community of friends and family in Long Beach. Keeping in touch and visiting most summers meant so very much to him. After moving to Puyallup, Washington Joe enjoyed owning the Propane Connection and being a part of the community, as evidenced by all the car wash fundraisers held there. Belonging to the Holy Disciples family in faith was also important to him. Joe touched many people with his openness and selfless nature, never said a bad word about anybody, and was always there to lend a listening ear.

Baseball was big in the Plummer household, even before Joe was on the scene. Joe played not only on multiple boyhood teams, but he was drafted and played for the Mets for a year. He continued his love of sport playing for the Euphies with his many baseball friends (we'll never forget those Halloween games!) and he loved helping coach his own children's teams.

Since he was a little kid, Joe loved the outdoors. He shared many stories of his camping and road trips with brothers and cousins and made sure to keep those traditions alive with his own family. Any one of Joe's friends knows how much he loved camping and fishing trips. Bridgeport was one of his favorite places ever. He'd always make sure to go out to the meadow and watch the shooting stars. When you look into the night sky and see the moon and stars, like the way he always did, know that he's looking down on all of us with love.

As we begin processing this immense loss, we are comforted to know in our hearts that we are all better people for knowing, loving, and being loved by Joe.
