    Owen Rose Garden

Owen Rose Garden was my grandma's favorite place to visit. The rose garden enhances the senses with the beautiful colors of the roses, the fragrant floral scents and the sound of the nearby Willamette River. I feel that honoring her life here will put her memory at rest and peace.

This will be an informal celebration of Hattie with a spreading of her ashes within the garden. We will also be celebrating her 90th birthday! Lunch and beverages will be provided as we all share our memories of her.

Many family and friends are on the East coast and with the unfortunate pandemic, travel may be difficult. I would love to see anyone that can be there, as it would be an opportunity for many of us to meet for the first time.

Thank you in advance for anyone that chooses to donate towards the costs. The plan is to keep it simple, provide enough food for those that can attend and create a lasting memory by purchasing a plinth with her name in the rose garden. I have listed all costs on the donation page.

Glenda has mailed grandma's ashes to me. She is taking a journey across the country for the last time, Georgia to Las Vegas. I am awaiting her arrival and can't wait to take her back to Oregon so she can rest peacefully.

The park reservation has officially been made! August 31, 11am-2pm. Grandma's passing has been difficult but even in the dark times there is light and her light has created a long overdue family reunion. I can't wait to see everyone and celebrate grandma's life.

This is what grandma's memory tile will look like. I chose a West facing direction because she loved the West Coast and watching the sunset. It will be installed this month, can't wait to see it!

Thank you to Glenda for contributing $1200 towards the celebration! Slate tile has been ordered and once I get the proof I will post a photo here. I will be able to make the park reservation on July 6 and will post an update then.
