In western lands beneath the Sun The flowers may rise in Spring, The trees may bud, the waters run, The merry finches sing. Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night, And swaying branches bear The Elven-stars as jewels white Amid their branching hair.
Though here at journey's end I lie In darkness buried deep, Beyond all towers strong and high, Beyond all mountains steep, Above all shadows rides the Sun And Stars for ever dwell: I will not say the Day is done, Nor bid the Stars farewell.
My Uncle Glenn always had a smile. Always. Every time I saw him he would open his arms out wide and give me a huge comforting hug, telling me how good it was to see me. As Kristyn says, he truly was a light. He will be so missed in our family.

He was one of the kindest, most intelligent and level-headed people I have ever met. To this day, I remember him helping me set up my home network to be able to put a page out on the Internet. In the office, he was the calmest and kindest person I had ever worked with. We often bounced ideas off each other, with the utmost mutual respect.
When I heard of his passing, I was so shocked I just didn't know what to do, except remember the good times with Glenn that will always be etched in my memories.
My condolences to his entire family, and especially to his daughter, who he always talked about and loved so dearly.

I looked over to see his eyes filled with tears behind sunglasses. Even though we teased him for those sunglasses, he was teaching me one of the most important lessons: it is ok to feel deeply. There is no shame in this, I learned, because you cannot experience love without pain, joy without sorrow, light without shadow. Thank you, Glenn, for sharing with us your love, wisdom, and passion for life. I feel so lucky to be able to call you family.

When the neighbor threatened to cut down a huge pine in Glenn’s backyard, Glenn rallied and other neighbors to confront the neighbor and stop his madness. The neighbor even called Glenn’s landlord to get permission and Glenn vowed he would end his lease the minute that happened. Fortunately, the neighbor relented and Glenn stayed where he was. Glenn’s passion was unbridled and inspiring! less

You carried so much love in your heart and shared it with us every single time we saw you. There was never a visit with you where my heart wasn't lifted by your spirit. I'll always remember the last two times we saw you. Once when driving home from a long trip, passing through Gainesville just to stop and grab dinner at our favorite little restaurant from back in our college days. As soon as we parked we looked up and there you were, stopping to grab your own dinner at the same restaurant. Such an unexpected and wonderful surprise. And then, our very last visit with you, we had drinks at Cypress & Grove and dinner at Blue Gill. You weren't feeling quite up to the Gator football game we were going to, but you made a bed for us at your house and we stayed the night there. Even when you weren't feeling your best, you made us laugh, made us smile, warmed our hearts. Rest in everlasting peace. less

A master at his craft and dedicated to making sure he did his part to help others. Over the 13 years I had the honor of working with Glenn. We had many great conversations over those years. I was reflecting on some of those conversations. He would often talk about his family and grandkids or concerts with his brother. Or a Gator game; he loved them Gators! But more than anything, he loved his family and friends. He held them close to his heart. He especially had an abundance of love for his daughter and her babies. I was happy he decided to move closer to them and spend more time with his grandkids.
As amazing as Glenn was, he could be equally as stubborn, but I could always get a good laugh out of him no matter how stuck in his way he was. I won't ever forget his laugh nor the time we got to spend together.
Rest easy my friend, as you will never be forgotten, you are and always will be a foreverpeep! less

We've always shared a music addiction, and I well recall sitting across from him at a dinner in 2012, talking about our recent discoveries. "The Avett Brothers? What?!? Me, too!" We were off and running like teenagers, comparing favorite lyrics, band members, instrumental riffs. Fast forward another few years, when we ran into each other at an Avett Brothers outdoor concert, and laughed at the beauty and synchronicity of the moment.
Here's/cheers to Glenn, his immediate as well as extended family, and the many friends he made, kept, and inspired on his journey. "For life and its loveliness" indeed... 💜 less

He had brought some tchotchke from his work at the time with Jones Intercable, a plastic wristwatch branded in loud red, yellow and blue tones for MTV's Half-Hour Comedy Hour. He asked me if I needed a watch and I replied that I was "between watches" at the time. For some reason, that cracked him up for the whole day. Afterwards I always tried to make him laugh, and he certainly returned the favor. That watch didn't last very long, but many, many hours of my childhood and adolescence were spent reading fantasies I learned about from him. Every opportunity to hear his take on those stories reminded me of how every so often the monotony of church can be shattered by the gospel of a priest who truly believes the words and breathes his own life into them. In my small, but growing world, Glenn resembled the wizards in those books he shared with me as he always had something useful to contribute whether it was a unique gadget, a smart quote, a new song, a warm pipe, a cold beer, or a watch. less

To me, you were a brother, a friend, a teacher, a comedian, a wizard, and such a loving father and grandfather. Your energy and positivity was at a 10 from the first day that I met you, but I remember once your first grandchild was born how you radiated that much more pride and happiness in your life and unto others like nobody would have known was possible. The only time you were a pain was when you made my sides hurt from laughter, and when your pre-90's references flew right over my head, but I'll miss those moments a lot too. Your shenanigans were a hoot!
I hope we can all take a page from your book and be a little more Glenn. You really were that excellent, and will be so dearly missed. I love you buddy! less

One night my mom and dad told me we were gonna watch a movie together and wouldn't tell me what it was but that I'd like it. I remember sitting on the family room floor eating popcorn and the opening scene started with the street sign "privet drive" and I said "hey that's the name of the street in Harry Potter!" It was the best surprise that Glenn had somehow magically gotten us the dvd of it while it was still in theaters. That memory occurred to me just yesterday while I watched the movie with Angelo to celebrate his Harry Potter themed birthday today.
Glenn always had access to the coolest new technology, whether it be pirated movies or photoshop (I'll never forget when Kristyn convinced me with photoshopped images that she actually had a twin sister that lived at her dad's house). I’d spend hours playing the CD Roms he got me every year on my birthday. He even had his whole house programmed like Star Trek to turn on his tv and lights and neon Pabst sign (haha) via voice command. I'm going to miss hearing him rave about the next new thing out there, always with the most enthusiasm about what the future holds. less
