A Special Lady

Evelyn Diane Zekas Webb, age 72, of the Cruso Community, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde.

She was born January 7, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Charles Zekas and the late Aldona Kairis Zekas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Zekas.

Our sweet “Zeke” as she was affectionately called by those who knew and loved her, was indeed a force of nature. She loved her family, her many dogs, spending time working with paper and fabric crafts, and she enjoyed Pouilly-Fuisse wine.  As we remember Zeke we will forever hold happy memories of her vast knowledge and intelligence, her dry wit, and her delightful sense of humor that will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.    

She is survived by her husband, James Webb; and her cousins, Frederick (Patricia) Matekunas and their daughters, Erin(Brenton) and Jessica; Phyllis Rhodes and her sons, Carl Jr., and Chris (Naomi) and their daughter, Tatum; Helen Matekunas (David) and Tammy Dock-Brown (Kevin) and son, Eli; and Peter Scarnulis.
