Cousin Evie, as I knew her, was one of a kind. Her love for her friends, family, pets, and activism drew me to her as I grew up. She was THE free-spirit who encouraged me to find what made me happy and focus on that every day. She truly believed that humor could be found in every situation. Her love for the environment and "her" mountain motivated me to always embrace nature and find a place you love and make it home. She had much advice for me over the years and I always relished our penpal type of relationship over the last 10 years of her life. Her love meant so much to me and I would not be the person I am today without her. She was strength, passion, compassion, and humility all rolled into a family story-teller who's words could make a story come to life (usually with a few cuss words depending on the hour). I really feel like I have lost a part of myself with the loss of Evie. I'm hoping people might share stories, recipes, pictures, or even memes (because Evie loved a good meme) which can help us all remember that humor is the only way to get through a difficult situation.
