I have so many wonderful memories of this woman. Troy and I spent many summers with her when we were little. I remember helping in the garden. She had a huge, beautiful garden full of most anything you could think of, from potatoes to strawberries, lettuce, carrots, green beans and peas. Helping pick green beans and peas led to sitting out behind the house breaking beans and hulling peas for many hours. Sometimes with homemade ice cream or a big ripe watermelon. There were many family gatherings in the back yard on Lawrenceburg Rd. Grandma was always there for us, either praising us or threatening to break a 'switch' of the big tree..though we knew she never really would. I loved to bake with her. We made so many cupcakes! After she moved to Springfield, she helped me daily in taking care of Xander when he was born. He spent nearly every day with her. She's a big part of his upbringing and I owe her a lot for helping me form him into the wonderful young man he is today. None of the family will ever forget the amazing meals she would prepare, from fish dinners to turkey and all the trimmings on holidays. Theres so much more I could share, but I will end with saying, "I love you grandma, and I thank you for all of these wonderful memories and many more. I know you are embraced in an amazing family reunion in Heaven."
I've added several photos. Please share any you might have as well. Let me know if I shared one that you prefer I remove.
