On Sunday, July 26, 2020, Dalia Rosa Robinson, passed away at age 82, but her larger-than-life persona and vibrant personality will not be forgotten. Dalia was born on September 30, 1937 in Havana, Cuba. She was first and foremost a loving sister, aunt and friend.
Dalia was vivacious in spirit. She was passionate about God, life, her friends and family. She was known for her cheerful personality, infectious smile, and kind and compassionate spirit. Dalia could always be found surrounded by her friends and family. Her favorite hobby was socializing and spending time with her family and friends. Dalia never took life seriously, laughing up to her last days. She was always up for an adventure, never saying no to the next best thing. Dalia excelled at sewing, cooking and creating long lasting friendships.
Dalia was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. Along with her parents and brother George, she immigrated to the United States on February 29, 1956. Through family contacts, Dalia and her family lived in Miami, Florida. Soon after her arrival, Dalia married William J Robinson on November 16, 1956. Dalia soon moved to Los Angeles with her parents, brother and husband. Dalia worked alongside her mother in the Los Angeles garment industry. Dalia and her mother were very close, riding the bus together, working together and talking to each other on the phone all hours of the night. After living in Los Angeles for some time, Dalia moved to Las Vegas with her husband. Dalia worked at the Sahara Casino, where she retired as the head seamstress.
Dalia was preceded in death by her parents, Blanca Nieves and Eulalio Mena and her husband, Bill Robinson. She is survived by her brother George Mena and his wife Sherry along with her nieces and nephews, Steven Mena, Brian Mena, Ashley Sok and Heather Krishnan. She also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews and countless friends in Las Vegas who will remember and love her dearly.
Dalia loved the beach, once stating “I started my life by the beach, I want to end my life by the beach.” To honor Dalia’s wishes we are planning a beach memorial service.
