Ruminating over the past, I recall you once said… “Life is in phases”. A time to be born and to die. You lived your life to the fullest serving your country dutifully and being the best father the best way you knew how to be. I was glad that I was able to learn several things from you. Your resilience, independence and dogged determination to be a better version of yourself, I got from you. Especially the independence part, I am appreciative of that as it has contributed positively to my life. We shared similar interests, our love for music. You introduced me to an array of music as I remember taking some of your music CDS without your permission! Yes, I am confessing now! I will remember you for the father you were to me, an educationist who always emphasized the value of education. A strict and a disciplinarian father but with good reasons. You did the best you could. You shall never be forgotten. Continue to rest in peace, Daddy. less

And did not hesitate in doing the best you could in ensuring this was fulfilled. As a child, I recall, how you got me lots of books, just so I imbibed and appreciated the art of reading. This has left giant strides and I am grateful for them.
The Agriculturist: I remember how much you loved farming, animal rearing etc. You would grow lots of vegetables at the backyard of the house, which we all ate eventually.. *smiles*..
The Officer - With the energy & poise you exuded, I never questioned your dedication to serve our nation, especially when you wore your White on White uniform - it redefined how courageous and energetic a Naval Officer should be and look like.
The Sportsman - Sporty? Surely! You loved lots of games. From Squash to Golf, which you had a great deal of passion for. You went as far as winning tournaments.
Dog Lover- Fun fact, I had never witnessed or heard about a burial ceremony done for a Dog , until you the did one for our Dog "Princess" *Smiles*. This showed humanity and Care.
Thank you, for the impact you made in lives and hearts. Farewell Dad! Rest on. less

You were a great father to reckon with, you never gave up on me till I finished university. Thank you for your fatherly care, death didn't allow time for me to shower you with goodness. I, Winifred, Jeffrey and Divine will miss you dearly. The world lost a Gem. Rest on dad, till we meet again. less

Death comes like a Cat on the trail of his pray with no signs or notice to dot your eyees and cross your tees, otherwise Robin would have loved to be part of our next Reunion.
He was an enthusiastic oldboy of IGS set67.
Prior to our reconnection and Reunion of oldboys in 2019, he was highly enthused about reuniting with his senior and junior oldboys. Consequently, he contributed immensely both morally and financially towards the actualization of our reconnection and subsequent Reunions of 2019. He also paid for our planned reunion of 2020 which was aborted and botched by Covid-19. In spite of that, he also paid his mandatory annual subscription fees for 2021.
Until his demise at age 71 after a brief illness, he was a retired Nigerian Naval Comordor who retired on attaining the mandatory retirement age. While in service, he was the Commanding officer of NNS Umaloku, Warri in Delta state.
His family, friends, oldboys and indeed the creams of the society shall miss him profoundly.
May God grant him a peaceful and eternal rest and grant his family and all that shall miss him the fortitude to bear his departure. It is my prayer that God should grant our oldboys longer live to complete every set task before departure. Rest in peace Robby till we meet to part no more. Ijn.
Signed.

You knew from a distance.

You were not only a good father, you were also a good grandfather and father in-law. We always felt at home anytime we come visiting because you keep asking us what we would take. The pictures below though blurry were taken when your grandchildren and I came visiting along with you son Valentine during one of the Christmas celebrations. It's sad that the kids wouldn't see their grand PA in ogudu anymore but we take solace in that you are resting in the bosom of our Lord. Rest on dad..till we meet to part no more.
