OBITUARY
Barbara was a strong woman, a loving mother, and a strict disciplinarian, who placed a strong emphasis on education. She was a true woman of faith, who stressed the importance of serving the Lord, and made sure her children attended Sunday School, church, and Vacation Bible School. She was a true woman of faith, who stressed the importance of serving the Lord, and made sure her children attended Sunday School, church, and Vacation Bible School. She had one rule when her children returned home as young adults and that was no matter what you did on Saturday night, you had to get up and go to church on Sunday.
Barbara was an excellent dancer and would not hesitate to get out on the dance floor. She often danced with her children and grandchildren. She did everything with grace, style, and class.
Barbara had an exceedingly kind heart and was a blessing to many. She opened her home to several of her friends and her children’s friends. Barbara was “Mom” to many of the kids in the neighborhood. She would chastise, fuss, feed, give advice, console, and pray for anyone that she felt needed it. She was a true believer in the African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child.”
Barbara loved to travel and over the years visited many places with her sisters-in-law, cousins, children, and her friends. She took numerous bus trips to Las Vegas and to the Indian casinos. She loved to play the penny machines at the casinos in downtown Vegas and had a gift for winning money on the slot machines.
She enjoyed meeting new people and talked to everyone she met.
We extend our sincerest appreciation and gratitude to each of you for your prayers, words of comfort, phone calls, texts, cards, flowers, plants, and other acts of kindness and expressions of love shown to each of us on the loss of our Beloved Mother. Your actions will continue to brighten our days ahead.

She was fun and serious, smart and beautiful, a good listener and she would tell you “about yourself”. I smile thinking of all the sleep overs, taco nights, Sunday dinners, and rides to Sunday School. She will be missed. Her imprint on this planet was huge. I am praying for all of the family. Losing your mom is hard, but when she is spectacular..... it is even more difficult. I know God will take care of you. Much Prayer, Much Power! Love, Toni ( Reggie sends his love) less
