What Barbara cherished most was time with the people she loved. From holiday gatherings and birthday celebrations, soccer games and ice skating performance, to knitting with friends or simply sharing a cup of coffee on the porch.
It is with deep sadness that we realize we cannot do what she loved most, as we cannot safely get together to honor her life at this time. We ask instead, that we gather here and share our memories of our truly amazing Mom, Gamma and friend, Barbara.
Please upload photos and stories of your favorite memories on this site.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that donations be made in Barbara's memory to two organizations she supported.
Team Brownsville in Brownsville, Texas provides humanitarian assistance for asylum seekers, through their "Breakfast/Dinner at the Bridge" programs, and facilitates “La Escuelita en la Banqueta”which provides classes for children awaiting asylum over the Mexican border in Matamoros.
You can give via the link on this page or via their website at www.teambrownsville.org/donate.
Another organization accepting donations in lieu of flowers is Lewis House.
Barbara also made donations of her hand-knitted creations to the local battered women's shelter in Eagan. Lewis House was among the first shelters in the nation specifically created for women fleeing domestic violence and has been serving the community since the mid 1980's. You can search for "360 Communities" based in Burnsville, MN in the box on this page or go to 360communities.org.
