Our dear friend Arun Pole passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 19th, 2020 at the age of 38 in Chinchwad, Pune.  Arun was a kind-hearted, open-minded, determined, hardworking human and always wanted to help the people around him. He was a devoted friend, a loving father, a gracious son, an affectionate husband and a passionate engineer. His affability and compassion will be missed by everyone. He left a lasting impression on anyone he met – he would be always remembered for his infectious smile that would be the first gesture from him.

Arun joined Renishaw in 2008 with few years of experience under his belt in Software testing field. He contributed exceptionally well in the development of numerous products, meticulously ensuring that it is the highest quality only which gets delivered. He contributed to almost all functional areas of Renishaw starting with Metrology with APEX to health care with Neuro-Inspire leading onto Additive. In his last stint, he was working in Additive Manufacturing field. He approached it from all the aspects and always strived for having something novel from the Pune centre, be it a new approach on Lattice development or providing guidance on simulation of thermal properties with the sole intention of converting it into a complete product.  And above all, he remained the first line of defence on QuantAM product with his vast and in-depth knowledge of QuantAM and the associated methods.

He was not only a highly accomplished professional; his deep and meaningful relationships are his greatest legacy that he has left behind. He led by example, and his values shaped his actions and often the directions others would follow.

Arun is survived by his wife Pratibha, mother, and son Joshua, as well as a large circle of extended family, friends and colleagues.
