OBITUARY
This memorial was created in honor of Anil Ramchandra Gokhale, son of Late Ramchandra Gokhale and Late Dr Susheela Gokhale. Anil was born on July 15, 1951 in Mumbai and passed away on May 25, 2019 in California. Anil was born on July 15, 1951 in Mumbai and passed away on May 25, 2019 in California. Anil was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all friends and family. Anil did his schooling at Scindia School Gwalior and then at IIT Mumbai and went on to do his Masters at CMU Pittsburg. He worked for many years at Tata Electric in Mumbai and then moved on to California where he worked with several startups, and tech giants.
Anil leaves behind a dear daughter Anandhi and a loving sister Neela and her children Rohan & Shareen and Abhishek Talreja with their kids Saissha & Anaiahh.
My memory of Anil starts in 7th standard when we were in the same class, the same House and opened the innings for our House all those years and for the School in our last year. (The photographs of Anil with his parents are exactly as we remember him at school.) The cricket metaphor describes Anil well. He displayed his talent, his technique and his temperament in the way he played and the way he worked. And his pasion for cricket stayed with him through college and beyond.
We reconnected about 12 years ago thanks to a family pretext for visits to the Bay area. He never turned down the opportunity to meet. His quiet demeanor communicated very well.
The Scindia and Madhav House community is distressed to learn about his passing. The years we spent at Scindia instilled a sense of togetherness that transcends distance, time and active contact. And this creates an expectation of permanence. Which has now been shattered.
We feel the loss deeply.

Shy; socially conscious; hated bullying; and injustice by the privileged against the poor; concerned and caring about people around him, are the qualities that immediately come to mind about Anil but can any one sum up any complex human being in a few words ?
Shocked to hear of his passing. He was always fit and health conscious. There was never any talk of retirement. He enjoyed and was immersed in his work. We have so many happy memories with him. Will miss him.
