Celebrating the life of Andre Bonhoure
1966-2021
-----
Andre Bonhoure died suddenly February 27, 2021. He was on his motorcycle, stopped at a red light in Greenacres, Florida, when he was struck by a suspected impaired driver. He was 54 years old.
His family has suffered a great loss, and he leaves behind loved ones devastated by him being taken so prematurely and unexpectedly. He is survived by his parents, Jean Bonhoure and Ellen Fraser; his children, Danielle Bonhoure, Michael Bonhoure and Nicholas Bonhoure; and his young grandchildren, Hunter Johnson, Norah Lively and Violet Lively.
Bonhoure was born in a small town in Pennsylvania on a chilly December day. Later, he’d move to Florida and attend Fort Lauderdale High School.
He loved boating and often spent his weekends soaking up the Florida sunshine out on the water. He worked for 22 years as a marine mechanic at Smilin Jacks Marine in Jupiter, Florida, where he was a loyal, hardworking employee.
Even when he wasn’t repairing boats for work, he was always building and fixing things. He was a creative artist, often sketching diagrams and drawings, and he could make anything using tools and his hands.
He loved collecting and refurbishing vintage cars and motorcycles, like his 1996 BMW M3 and 1996 Suzuki bike. You could regularly find him underneath a car making performance upgrades or modifications.
He loved working on automobiles with his sons, who looked up to him as a Jack of all trades, and teaching them the ins and outs of mechanics. He dreamt of one day opening up an auto repair shop to run alongside his sons.
His children will always remember him as a selfless, honest, simple man—the kind who would drop everything and do anything he could to help his friends and neighbors, down to giving them the shirt off his back.
Please send condolences to the Bonhoure family at 3058 Quantum Lakes Drive, Boynton Beach FL 33426.
