Alan Blum, son of Abe and Bernice Blum (deceased), brother to Sandra Blum (deceased), leaves behind his brother Marvin Blum (wife Anna) of Houston, Texas, niece Rebecca (Blum) Wells (husband Tommy) of Cypress, Texas, nephew Burhan Blum (wife Hifi) of Houston, Texas, grand-niece Alexandria Wells and grand-nephew Quentin Wells of Cypress, Texas, and his wife Patricia Blum of Chicago, Illinois.
Born, raised, and educated in Chicago, Illinois, Alan was an avid music lover who played the drums and enjoyed introducing his friends to new music groups, genres and venues.
Alan's other passion was wine. As the wine buyer and resident wine connoisseur for Potash Market (Clark Street), Alan shared his passion for all things wine and spirits with people from all walks of life. For 22 years, Alan helped "guide people through the complicated world of beer, wine, and spirits with unparalleled knowledge." Through his knowledge of wine, Alan was able to travel to different continents, giving him great joy and pride.
To know Alan was to love Alan. He was kind, sweet, funny, smart, and generous to a fault. He never met a stranger, and he always was a friend.
Thank you for helping us remember him through your eyes, stories, and pictures.
Love,
Marvin (brother) and Rebecca (niece)
