Sicheng Su's Album: Wall Photos

I moved into Blk 8 Empress Road with my mum during my JC days in 2002 where Michael had his apartment and florist shop. He had a gentle, scruffy little dog and after seeing him regularly on my way to/from school I would stop by and pet his dog and have a chat with him whenever I could. He would tell me about his latest projects, and how hard the flower business was becoming. He was such a kind neighbour, always keen to say hello and always had time for a chat.

He was also a regular contributor to my dating life by supplying me many a beautiful bouquet of flowers at what I am sure were ridiculously low, kindness-driven prices, (including the huge bouquet of roses I used to propose to my wife in the picture!). I loved going to collect flowers from him, they were always so immaculate and he took such pride in them, and I'm sure he never charged me close to enough for them.

I moved away in 2014 and didn't see him for many years. About 2 months ago I was at my mum's old place overseeing some renovations. I looked up from my seat in the common area and saw Michael's smiling face beaming at me. We could only have a quick catch-up before I had to go and I promised to return but sadly that was the last time we spoke. At least one last brief chance to chat with him.

Deepest condolences to all of Michael's family. Thank you Michael for being such a kind and wonderful neighbour, you are missed. Hope to catch up with you in heaven.
