I have always felt I had two mothers, my biological mother and Aunty Flo who was such a dear friend and sister to my parents so much so that she was in the delivery room when I was born and ushered me into this world. Throughout my childhood she loved me as her own and always reminded me of that. She was instrumental in raising me and moulding me into who I am today. I have always known that no matter how much time would pass without us speaking I would be welcomed back by her warm and loving embrace (she truly did give the best hugs). I deeply regret not having truly honored her for the incredible role she played in my life.
Aunty Flo, I am so grateful to have known, been loved by and raised by you. Thank you for everything you did for me and thank you for being an anchor to my parents over the years. Rest in perfect peace Aunty.
