Catherine was such a positive person to those around her. As a freshman at UCLA, I met her as part of the community at Agape and UP that welcomed me in. She worked at my dorm's front desk, and me and my first-year friends (Dave, Gray, and Blue) would sometimes run into her there and around the dorms, and so we got to hang out a bit. Catherine was the older sister checking in to see how we were doing - I came to know her as someone with a gift for genuinely caring about others.

We largely lost touch after she and William moved to the Bay Area, but even then Catherine and William graciously hosted many of our SoCal friends who drove up for my wedding to Phuong. Phuong and I were glad to reconnect in recent years with the Kuos at the summer campouts. I wasn't surprised to hear about Catherine's service as a trustee and the impact she has made in her community - her energy, kindness, and focus on helping others have always characterized her life. We are heart-broken at her passing and will miss her.
