It is difficult to believe that we lost you almost one week ago. Your passing was such a shock to all who knew you and also to those you touched in life each day.

I remember our early days Dublin when our littles were truly little, meeting you and experiencing your great ability to gather a community during your sprawling legendary Easter Egg Hunts. Through the years at James Dougherty Elementary you were everywhere as a parent volunteer, art leader, forever pursuing the timeless fun of childhood memories for our students. And to do all this, it did indeed seem like you were "faster than a speeding bullet"!

As Ian and I got to know you as you worked on the PFC and other school committees, it was truly apparent that your solid dedication to our school and our students knew no barriers. Those of us around you felt your spirit and inspiration in all that you did... truly able to "leap tall buildings in a single bound"!

As you humbly took on the challenge to be our Dublin Unified School District Trustee, with each passing week we saw you become the strength of our community. With each contentious Board Meeting we saw a mighty force to be reckoned with... this, our Super Hero, "more powerful than a locamotive"!

Happy Birthday in Heaven dear friend. Although the memories so many share of you seem so unbearable right now because of your tragic passing, it is true, as another has said, that each and every one of them is a very special blessing. Each one of these blessings will carry on in so many ways. They will carry on within not only your friends and your loving family but in each and every one of those whose life you touched.

Thank you for that legacy.

All our love Catherine.
