Lou held a special nook in my heart. She was always there, overflowing with love, knowledge and generosity. I am proud to have known her for so many years and call her my friend.

The first time I met Lou, Cian and I were bonding over our love of the best trashiest B Grade vampire romance, True Blood. She welcomed me into her home with a beautiful big smile, a warm hug and her two little dogs running between our legs. She offered me a glass of wine as we chattered on about life, crystals and got to know each other.

Lou was someone who was always easy to talk and relate to, she would speak of the spiritual world and how our paths were meant to meet, diverge and inevitably meet again. I remember all the times, she laughed at Cian and I surviving our adventures (or misadventures) but it was always in loving jest, knowing that we would always be okay in the end because we had each other.

The day Andy and Cian got married, I felt very privileged sitting next to Lou. I had the honour of holding Lou's hand, giving her cuddles whilst we witnessed her daughter marry the man she loved. Throughout the whole ceremony, she was unable to take her eyes off the two of the most important people in her life. I know she treasured this memory above many others. The picture below is of Lou, moments before the celebrant announced Andy and Cian as husband and wife.

The last time I saw Lou, she was still her vibrant self- ever beautiful and charming. Much like many of our memories, we sat together and enjoyed each other's company and food - a veggie omelette, brownies and wine. She spoke of her life, her family and how much she loved Cian and Andy. Because of Covid, we hadn't seen each other for many months. One of the last things she ever said to me was how I looked exactly as I did when she first met me all those years ago and how much she loved me. I will never forget that.

Lou will always be my other mother and so much love will always be reserved for her. She may not be with us in the physical world, but she is with us in our memories, in spirit and ever present as we make new ones. Love you Lou xoxo
