Annie was a force — brilliant, spirited, energetic, independent, and fiercely loyal. Here she is with her daughter, Syrah, after an afternoon fishing. Last time I saw her she was chopping wood for her parents with her partner, Ollie, on an unusually warm, sunny day earlier this winter. I believe she was happier than she’d been in years.
