David and I met in 1973 when he was a medical student in Philadelphia. Though not a med student myself, I briefly lived in a student fraternity house on Spruce Street where David was then living. David was the nicest, funniest, most down-to-earth, and maybe smartest student in the house. We became friends and later spent time together as a foursome with Carolyn and my soon-to-be-wife, Janice. We had a memorable ski trip to Vermont, sunshine at the Jersey shore, dinner parties, and Janice and I got to meet Dave's parents in Erie. We lost touch after Janice and I moved to Ohio in 1980. We are so fortunate Carolyn found us just now us on Facebook. Here is a photo Carolyn took at a wine and cheese get together at our house in Philadelphia. I think David might have inspired me to grow my beard a few years after this photo was taken.
