I have fond memories of Robin, starting back when we were taking microstructure profiles over the Maud Rise in 2005 in the tent on the ice or on the aft deck of the N.B. Palmer. We spent a lot of time talking about science and life in general and he was a mentor during my postdoc time in the US. He and his lovely wife Karin hosted several very nice dinners when I was in Seattle, talking politics, drinking wine and playing with the dogs, and we stayed in touch since. I have fond memories, also when he visited Tromsø about 12 years ago, not too keen yet to retire. Robin will be missed.
