Thank you for setting up this celebration of life page as a tribute to Andrew. I appreciate the opportunity to share an “Andrew Story”. There are so many great traits that Andrew had. Simply put, he is one of the best people who I have ever known.

I would have met Andrew in High School (Humberside) over 30 years ago. I did not really come to know him though until after High School. He became part of a core group of friends from Humberside. Each year for the last 20 years or so we have been fortunate enough to get away to enjoy each other’s company, have a beer or two and play some golf.

My story starts on a golf course in the Muskoka’s about four or five years ago. There were 12 of us on the course that day having a great time. Andrew was in the middle foursome of three groups. As one is apt to do on such a fine day, we all took some indiscretions on the course. I cannot recall the specifics of what we did. Probably something like not adhering to “cart path only” rule for the day.

Regardless, the Marshall caught the group Andrew was in “not following the rules”. The Marshall was not happy and asked that their group leave the course with 6 or 7 holes to play. It was at this point that Andrew changed. A switch flipped in this gentle kind soul. He became aggressive with the Marshall saying that they did nothing wrong and their group would not leave. After much back and forth, the Marshall won and their group had to exit the course before finishing their round.

Thinking back to that day, I was surprised at how Andrew reacted. Normally he was such a kind and caring guy. What I later realized was why Andrew displayed such passion. Andrew was not worried about himself. He was worried about his friends. I guess you could say that it was never about Andrew. It was always about everyone else. This is just one of the many traits that made him such a wonderful person.

All my love to you Andrew. Your the best
