Perhaps one of the most unanswered questions about humanity, life, and our social existence is the basic question of purpose.
“What is the purpose of life?”
Different religions and belief systems might offer different answers to this. In my little experience and journey in this world, most of the answers I came across have humanity, people and and service to others as dominant themes in them. Is there a correct answer to this? Maybe there isn’t. Maybe there are many correct answers and truths to this, depending on the culture or belief system one comes from.
One thing I know is, my brother Lamine Sylla lived his life sharing love and serving humanity. Sometimes we focus too much on the destination that we forget that the journey is equally important.
Lamine didn’t wait to be rich, powerful, or famous to make a difference in his community. He shared the little he had even when it sometimes was just a smile.
Rest In Peace Brother. You made us all smile. Now you left us with valuable lessons.
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
