Kim Barker's Album: Wall Photos

For the two summers before Covid changed the world, a few of us traveled to Oxford, England, to teach largely American high-school students about journalism and current events, part of an NYT education program. Jim, of course, was the star teacher, the one who had students following him and asking questions like little ducklings. We went for walks and had long talks about journalism and stories and of course Times' Kreminology. Back in New York, he seemed to have almost an unofficial desk in the cafeteria on the 14th floor--I knew I could always find him there and share a quick joke or story. It is unreal to think of the newsroom without him, his smile, his humor and his sage support. It is unreal still to me that he could be gone. My sincerest condolences to his family. He was so loved, and he will be so missed. (Photo courtesy of Jan Benzel.)
