Rudi, you were more than unique. You showed us all how truly selfless and caring you were. You kept us all under your wings and showed true compassion towards others. Your encouragements and warm heart kept us all together. Even if we had known each other for a short period of time, it felt like we were always brothers. When I had you over to my home during a weekend leave for a nice home-cooked meal and proper bed (even though bricks would have been comfier than the beds in St-Jean haha!) it was one of the best moments I've ever spent with someone. Truly down to earth and impossible not to love you. We were immensely lucky to have you as part of the platoon, and I was very fortunate to be your fireteam partner. We'll always love you and be in our hearts, and you'll always be, to all of us, our fireteam partner.
