Ingrid Grana-Underwood's Album: Wall Photos

As a kid, we loved having Tio Peyo and Titi Nina visit us in AL. We didn't have family close by so their visits were always a treat. Sometimes I would mistake him and or Tio Felo for Abuelo (Papa Buelo, Wilfredo, Don Wilo) - they looked so much alike! Peyo and Nina took me under their wing when I moved to Houston after graduating from college in 1999. Peyo helped me (and my husband!) job search, taught us how to balance a checkbook and create a budget(!!!!). The best thing EVER was family dinner every Sunday - that was the one meal a week I cherished. As a broke post college grad - my diet consisted of pizza and sandwiches!! Home cooked meals, raw steaks, good wine, never ending stories and lots of laughs and love. Home is where the heart is and you were always "home" with Peyo and Nina. Their door was open to everyone and they always made you feel welcome and loved. I miss the backyard pool, the huge lemon trees, your hot peppers (and hot sauce!!!), the aloe plants, Titi Nina's homemade tortillas, the wide array of cheeses, and Titi Nina yelling at the squirrels and barreling out of the house with a semi automatic pump action water gun! Hahaha! I still have the aloe plant you gave me in 2006 before I moved to Colorado - alive and well! I will miss you my dear uncle Pete, your wisdom, advice and support, your typed letters and your love. Yours truly, Ingrid & Earl
