I am broken-hearted over the loss of Tamirat. We first met 20 years ago when he was working for USAID. He was bright, full of life, and very kind-hearted. He came to Clark University where I was teaching and did a Master's degree, quickly becoming a popular figure in the Clark family. His sweetheart Mahelet later followed him to Clark and they married soon after.

I will always remember Tamirat as he was in this photo - humble, friendly, patient. My deepest sympathies to Mahelet and his children, and to all who knew him.
