Mom and Dad's 40th Anniversary ... the last celebration we were all together for before Dad passed away six months later. Instead of throwing our parents an anniversary party, we hired a limo, took them to Benihana's for dinner and drinks, and then presented them airline tickets, hotel reservations and $1,000 spending money at the newly-opened Mirage in Las Vegas. That was pretty good for 30 years ago! Dad loved to play cards and gamble a little and Mom liked the shows, so it was perfect for them. Tom did not follow in Dad's footsteps when it came to poker ... after losing consistently, he vowed to never play again ... and he didn't!
