Tom opening one of his Christmas presents. We had a favorite, funny Christmas story that we just talked about during one of our last visits together. While I always liked to be surprised (and still do), Tom always wanted to know ahead of time what he was getting. He would look under the beds or in the closet to try to find his gifts. One year I had bought my Mom a springform pan to make cheesecake, wrapped it and put it in the attic, but had a card with Tom's name on it laying on top of the pan, so he thought it was for him. I could tell he had opened it because he didn't do a very good a job of rewrapping it! Wasn't he surprised when he peaked at it, probably thinking what the heck is she buying me a springform pan for!
