Our hearts are filled with such sorrow and disbelief. To the Hirsts and to David’s friends, we are so truly sorry that he is gone. Our thoughts, hearts, and prayers are with him and with you.
Be it Grandma’s 85th birthday, Thanksgiving at the cottage, or ringing in the year 2000 with family and friends, David lit up a room with his smile and that sparkle in his eye. He so loved to have fun. His sense of humour and his laugh were contagious. His love for his family and friends, and being together with you was abundantly clear. His perspective and intellect challenged us to look at the world and ourselves with different eyes. In conversation, he blew me away with his incredible knowledge and depth. David’s character, strength, determination, and resilience impressed us and made us proud. We will forever miss him. Be at peace, Little Cousin.
