We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of Sibel Thrasher, who was a vibrant and cherished member of our local community and a dear member of the Arts Club family. Sibel (pictured left, with Lovie Elie and Lovena Fox) came to Vancouver on tour with The Platters in 1981, fell in love with the city, and decided to call it home. We’re proud to say that the Arts Club became her home too. Many of us here were touched by her amazing spirit and beautiful energy, and we offer our sincerest condolences to her family, friends and loved ones. Among her many accomplishments, we fondly remember her star turn in our production of Ain’t Misbehavin’, which ran for two years at our Revue Stage in the 1980s. Sibel, you will be missed.
