Diane – The Warrior.

You may wonder why I call Diane a “Warrior” ….because I believe she really was. Not that she won all her battles but she definitely fought so many without giving herself some peace. I got to know her as very headstrong and determined; two characteristics that sometimes didn’t match with being a warrior as losing a battle wasn’t her thing.

She fought and declared war to a lot of different people but she usually came back recalling her religious faith, her fondness of angels, love and forgiveness ---- and butterflies.

We talked a lot about butterflies. Their beauty, their innocence and fragility, and wonderful colors were attributes we easily agree upon.

We also talked quite a bit about angels. She found her connection with God in all her angel memorabilia, and I remember that this calmed her down at times she needed a break.

It was back in 1988 that I had a chance to meet Diane for the very first time. I was visiting her Mom in Kissimmee, FL, and the three of us spent a couple of days together, and just had a good time. Diane admired Mom for playing tennis just like a pro.

Although we lived thousands of miles apart, we stayed in touch. Not only by phone calls but also an abundance of emails and greeting cards.

I’m sure that she is finally at peace.
Love you Sis, Ingrid
