Liz and I were born just a month apart, were friends, and then step-siblings by the time we were 7 years old. I remember a lot of times when were were young, but especially when I was 20 and drove to Florida and stayed with her a couple days on my way to the Keys. We went out for Apalachicola oyster buckets and I enjoyed her Dan Fogelberg collection of albums.
She was always very interested in her nieces and she was an eager participant in both weddings.
She got a real kick out of renting a red Mustang so that our dad could enjoy driving the car like the one he bought in 1969. She adored him and he was clearly the apple of her eye. In recent years, after he moved to Michigan, she visited more and we had more family time. We had a blast seeing Tom Petty here just a couple weeks before he died.
She was always enthused and loved to have fun. We’ve lost a great cheerleader who was always in our corner. Love you, Liz!
