I am Namu, Ellie's friend from India. I had the privilege of meeting Grammi in Seattle. I still remember our visit to her beautiful house on a sunny day. As soon as we entered, she held my hand and could not wait to hear about where I came from. She had a platter of treats ready for us and our afternoon was filled with tea, talks about flowers, the wars she had seen and some amazing stories of her husband. Her enthusiasm and passion shone just like the sun that day and having lost a grandparent just a year ago before I met Grammi, meeting her was like coming home for me. I had never realized that holding her hand walking through her beautiful garden would end up being my most powerful memory of her. She was a woman of grit, power and style. I love you Grammi and I am so so grateful I got to meet you.
